Well I talked to Josh on Saturday and this is what he had to say " Everyone loved it, it was a friend's mom's birthday and she loved it so much she finished it off the next morning for breakfast!"
Thanks Josh, that has to be the ultimate compliment when someone loves it enough to have it for breakfast.
This was a new way of doing things for me, I made a regular crust but on the crust I put in a basic uncooked strawberry jam that I'd made, like a chutney, chunks of strawberry and a little sugar, it made the crust soft and melt in your mouth. I have to say I'm glad they enjoyed it, and looks like I've added another little trick to my cheesecake recipes:)
Have a great Long weekend! There's still time to order a cheesecake for it!

Strawberry Cheesecake
Well was up at market yesterday and my favorite exotic fruit vendor placed an order for a Strawberry Cheesecake. Well I have to say you would DIE for this cheesecake today, its creamy and pink.. and the crust melts in your mouth when you bite it ( did I mention I made a mini one for pictures and me)
So I've done the large cake pics, and I'm headed down now to do up the mini's. This cake was a little different in I made a quick strawberry crush and put on the crust so the crust is very wet but the fresh strawberries add a nice touch.

Flavor explosion.
My morning yesterday was filled with the scents of fresh coffee, organic sausages, fresh produce and best of all fresh fruit. I took my Saturday morning stroll through the Calgary Farmer's Market
to check out the freshest fruit and vegetables available. There were Fresh BC Blueberries, Raspberries and Cherries on the stands, that tasted incredible, but the booth that caught my attention wasn't Canadian, but exotics. Fresh, ripe mangoes, kumquats, gooseberries, dragon fruit. MMM What a girl can find at the market. So I picked up my fresh BC blueberries and raspberry's, got my organic cream cheese and eggs and hit the exotic table and got the 3 biggest freshest ripest mango's and a half bag of gooseberries for me:)
Oh MY GOD, the mango's are going to make incredible cheesecake, they are soft and ripe, they smell delicious and I can't wait to open them up for a taste. My taste buds are tingling at the thought already of that sweet, tart mango taste as I take a quick bite before adding them to my cheesecake.
I hope you're ready for another incredible taste sensation. I've made mango cheesecake before, but never with mangos this incredible.

Excellent Results
Ok you have to see this cheesecake. It turned out amazing, and the tasters I took to Brewsters went over very well, with comments like.
" I can't believe how smooth and creamy this is!"
" Oh my GOD this is fantastic"
"It was so good, I just wish there was more, I ate mine in two bites"
So as well as it went over I have to say I was very impressed with not only the results but the comments. The cheesecake set up beautifully, served on a plain white plate with a drizzle of the BBC Sauce and two blueberry's on top to finish it off.
So this morning before I took the tasters down I did a quick photo-shoot of the cheesecake with the bottle beside it, so you can see where its from and what the flavor is. I will upload these photo's shortly.
Saturday is market day, so I'll be on the lookout for my next flavor creation:)
Thanks for reading, look for the pictures to be added soon.

mmm Blackfoot Blueberry Ale Cheesecake
That's right folks, beer flavour number one is complete. Today's creation in the kitchen was a Blackfoot Blueberry Ale Cheesecake, using Blackfoot Blueberry Wheat Ale from Brewsters Brew Pub.
It is an excellent mild flavor and I am sure it will be a crowd pleaser. I am looking forward to showcasing it to the staff of Brewster's tomorrow morning as a thank you for the wonderfully produced ale.
